Are you trying to be godly or training yourself to be godly? Proverbs says,

"Fear-of-God is a school in skilled living; first you learn humility, then you

experience glory." Training is for everyone. School is for everyone. Training

means: readjusted, restored, set to rights, and perfected. Training involves

the shaping of our character. Intentional and deliberate training cannot be

done without the aid of the Holy Spirit. Peter said, “And all of you, clothe

yourselves with humility toward one another, tie on the servant’s apron.” You

cannot train yourself in godliness without dressing in humility. May we

choose to intentionally train ourselves to be godly.
