The Sabbath Feasts in Leviticus 23, all contained a Sabbath rest in them.

Why? Because worshipping God always requires ceasing from ordinary

earthly pursuits. The holy interrupts the ordinary, and the Heavenly interrupts

the earthly. In Israel’s Holy Convocation, God repeatedly gathered His

people together. Rest was never designed to be in isolation. Rest involved

worship, and rest involved the whole community. Read Psalm 92; it is a

Psalm for the Sabbath Day.
