Before I continue, I want to read V.27 again. It says But instantly He spoke to them, saying, Take courage! I Am! Stop being afraid!
Afraid: worried that something undesirable will occur or be done.
Deuteronomy 31:6 NLT
So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
Courage: mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty.
Matthew 14:28-30 AMPC
28 And Peter answered Him, Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.
29 He said, Come! So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water, and he came toward Jesus.
30 But when he perceived and felt the strong wind, he was frightened, and as he began to sink, he cried out, Lord, save me [from death]!
