Jesus Calms The Storm

Luke 8:22-25 (AMP)

Jesus Calms the Sea

"Now on one of those days Jesus and His disciples got into a boat, and He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side of the lake (Sea of Galilee).” So they set out. But as they were sailing, He fell asleep. And a fierce gale of wind swept down [as if through a wind tunnel] on the lake, and they began to be swamped, and were in great danger. They came to Jesus and woke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are about to die!” He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging, violent waves, and they ceased, and it became calm [a perfect peacefulness]. And He said to them, “Where is your faith [your confidence in Me]?” They were afraid and astonished, saying to one another, “Who then is this, that He commands even the winds and the sea, and they obey Him?”

When you face fiery storms in your life remember:

• Storms are under His control.

• Storms are always of limited duration.

• We have a big God who moves in a Big way.

• He will take you to the destiny He has promised.

• We must trust God in the storms of life.

Hebrews 10:35-36 (NIV)

"So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised."

1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV)

"No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he

will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging."

Psalm 23:1-3 (AMP)

"The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, to guide and to shield

me], I shall not want. He lets me lie down in green

pastures; He leads me beside the still and quiet waters.

He refreshes and restores my soul (life); He leads me in

the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake."

The storms of life will blow

They're sure to come and go

They meet us at a time

When I'm calm and doing fine

But the Captain of my soul

He's always on board

He rocks me in His arms

While riding through the storm

While riding through the storm

Jesus holds me in His arms

I am not afraid

Of the stormy winds and the waves

Though the tides become high

He holds me while I ride

I found safety in His arms

While riding through the storm

I have no fear of the raging seas

Knowing Jesus is there with me

He can speak to the wind and the waves

And make them behave

All power's in His hand

On sea or dry land

I found safety in the Master's arms

While riding through the storm

While riding through the storm

Jesus holds me in His arms

No I'm not afraid

Of the stormy wind and the waves

Though the tides become high

He holds me while I ride

I find safety in the Master's arms

While riding through the storm

While riding through the, the storm

While I'm riding through the, the storm

Yeah while I'm riding through the storm

Jesus holds me in His arms

While I'm riding through the storm

Let the winds blow

I don't care I'm riding through the storm with Jesus

Let the rains fall down

I'm riding through the storm with Jesus

Jesus is the captain of my soul, yes

He is Jesus, the Captain of my soul

I love Him, I love Him, I love Him

I love Him
