The Call And Responsibility of A Father Part 2

In Joshua 24:15b; Joshua declares; “But as for me and my house, we will

serve the Lord.” God’s purpose for fathers is to be Kingdom Influencers. God

gave Abraham a command to teach his family about his relationship with

God. God’s confidence in Abraham rested in Abraham’s willingness  

to lead his family. The word command means to direct, instruct, charge,

and guide. Abraham was called to lead his family spiritually, set the

atmosphere of the home, establish the standards of God that God demanded

from him and to direct his family toward all that he knew about God. These

three things Abraham was instructed to teach his family; 1. The way of the

Lord 2. Righteousness and 3. Justice. So it is for the Church today.
