Romans 8:28 NIV

28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,

who [a] have been called according to his purpose.

Here is a list of the nations the Lord left in the land to test the new generation of Israel

who had not experienced the wars of Canaan. For God wanted to give opportunity to

the youth of Israel to exercise faith and obedience [a] in conquering their enemies:
